Woman on motorcycle injured after hit by a street post

A woman driving a motorcycle has been injured when a post on the road fell on her after a truck carrying a container hit the post and broke it.

The incident took place on Izzuddhin Magu near the Housing Ministry and the cafés at the South West Harbor.

Witnesses say that the woman sustained major injuries after the post struck her head.

The woman is now being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Sources say that she was unconscious when she was taken to the hospital.

Witnesses say that the truck carrying the container fled the scene without stopping after it hit the post.

Police Media Official, Ismail Ali Waheed said that the incident has not been reported to the Police yet.
