Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that the woman hit by a street a falling post after it was broken when a truck carrying a container hit it, is in critical condition.
Media Official of the Hospital, Zeenath Ali Habeeb told Sun Media today that the woman sustained serious injuries to her head and spine and she is being treated at emergency room.
“Her condition is very poor, she is being treated. Her head and then her spine has been damaged.” Zeenath said.
While the woman was taken to IGMH following the incident last night, sources say that she was unconscious when she was taken to the hospital. The woman was driving a motorcycle when she was hit by the street post. Witnesses say that she sustained serious injuries when she was struck on the head.
While witnesses said that the truck carrying a container on Izzuddhin Magu fled the scene after it hit the post last night, Police Media Official told Sun Media today that the driver left the scene because he was unaware that an incident took place.
“He did not flee the scene; he didn’t know he hit anything. The investigation has now begun.” Police Media Official said.
