Ministry of Health has signed an MOU with two universities in Nepal to provide opportunities for Maldives in the health sector.
The MOUs were signed with Tribhuvan University of Nepal and the National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS).
At the signing ceremony held at the Health Ministry today, the Ministry was represented by the Health Minister, Iruthisham Adam. And while the Assistant Dean of Planning, Prof. Dr. Bimal Kumar Sinha signed the MOU on behalf of Tribhuvan University, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Ganesh Bahadur Gurung signed on behalf of NAMS.
Speaking at the ceremony, Health Minister Iruthisham Adam said that the MOU signed today would allow Maldivian students to study at these two universities.
The Minister said that the universities would also be working to find specialists and nurses needed for the Maldives under this agreement.
So far 89 Maldivians have been trained in the Nepal. There are currently 14 Maldivian students studying in the two universities that signed the agreement with the Ministry today.
