A lawyer on the former President, Mohamed Nasheed’s defense team, Hassan Latheef has been summoned to the Police station. He is to appear that station tomorrow night.

Talking to Sun Media tonight, Latheef said that he got the slip from the Police tonight ordering his presence at the station at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow night.

“The slip says that it is regarding a case.” Latheef said, talking about his summon to the Police.

Police Media Official also confirmed this to Sun Media. And he said that he is being summoned regarding a case related to the former President Mohamed Nasheed’s transfer to Prison.

Latheef said that he would be going to the Police station tomorrow night and he would be with his lawyer. He said that he has assigned the former Deputy Prosecutor General, Hussain Shameem as his attorney.

Speaking at a press conference at the MDP Office last night, Hassan Latheef said that an official letter from the Correctional Services confirmed that President Nasheed was transferred to house arrest on 19 July 2015. And the original of that letter is with President Nasheed. Responding to a question from Sun Media about the letter, Latheef said that he was present when the letter was given to President Nasheed.
