Suspected large scale drug dealer arrested in Thinadhoo

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in G.Dh. Thinadhoo in suspicion of running a large scale drug ring.

The man was arrested following information received by Police Intelligence. Police said that he was arrested last Friday while transporting drugs on a motorcycle after he received it from a speed boat that came to Thinadhoo.

Police said that he threw away bag which is believed to contain drugs from his motorcycle’s underseat compartment when he spotted the Police. Police said that the bag he threw away had two plastic bags that contained what is believed to be drugs. And the Police said that more than MVR 9400 was found in his wallet along with USD 6.

Thinadhoo Magistrate Court has added ten days to the remand of the man who was arrested who also has a record with the Police for drug related crimes. The case is being investigated by the Thinadhoo Police Station.
