State pharmacy to be established in 36 islands before the end of the year

Health Minister, Iruthisham Adam has said that state pharmacies would be established in 36 islands without them before the end of the year 2015.

Speaking at the press conference at the Health Ministry to outsource the renovations of Health Centers in six islands, Minister Iruthisham Adam said that the joint effort from STO and Aasandha has opened 152 pharmacies in the different islands.

“In the remaining 36 islands, with God’s will, pharmacies would be opened in the reminder of this year. I hope to have the pharmacy services in all the islands.” Minister Iruthisham said.

STO plays the biggest role in the establishment of pharmacies in the islands and supplying the medicines. All the pharmacies established by STO provides free medicine under Aasandha service.
