HDC to install over 50 CCTV cameras in Hulhumal

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has said that they are installing over 50 CCTV cameras in Hulhumalé under the instructions of the Maldives Police Service.

Managing Director of HDC, Mohamed Saiman told Sun Media today that as Hulhumalé is being developed day by day, they are now installing over 50 CCTV cameras in the city to strengthen it’s security.

He said that they have now identified the camera locations. And that they are making a study on how the cables and other things would be and they have not been finalized.

“We’re thinking of installing about more than 50 cameras. The locations they would be installed have been identified. But the cables for example, would be done by Dhiraagu or Ooredo, we haven’t finalized those details. But our target is to do that in this year.” Managing Director Saiman said.

Saiman said that the security in Hulhumalé is being developed now as well but there are things to be improved in some areas so they working with the relevant institutes.

Saiman also noted that the Police are very efficient in security services in Hulhumalé.
