The late Abdulla Hameed has been buried with national honor

The former President of the Parliament and the former Minister of Atolls, the late Abdulla Hameed has been bruied with national honor at the Galolhu Cemetery.

After passing away at the age of 76 yesterday during heart treatment at a hospital in Bangalore, India, the body of the late Abdulla Hameed was brought to the country this morning to be buried with national honor following the decision by the President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom.

The funeral was held at the Islamic Center this afternoon followed by the Salat al-Janazah (Funeral prayer) after the Isha prayers. The Funeral Prayer was led by Mr. Hameed’s brother and the former president, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

Along with the former President, Maumoon, Mr. Hameed’s younger brother and current President of the Maldives, Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom was also in attendance with a large number of people from the general public.
