Student environment forum begins in Mal

The first-ever national environment forum for students is under way at Dharubaaruge in Malé.

The forum is attended by 205 students from schools across the country, including 17 schools in Malé and 24 in other islands.

The forum will be held today and tomorrow, and each school will give a presentation on environmental problems facing Maldives.

The areas of discussion include biodiversity, waste management, coastal management, and innovation and green technology.

The forum will be held every other year, and the next one has been set for 2017. It is chaired by Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), and supported by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Environment and Energy.
