High Court: We have started closing old cases quickly

The High Court has said that they are trying to close old cases within a period of one month.

A statement issued by the Court today said that they have started closing old cases within a month as per the order from the Supreme Court.

“And so, the judges of the High Court have set a target to close the cases that have taken a long time after they have been submitted as soon as possible.” The statement said.

An open letter from the Supreme Court sent on 12 August ordered the lower courts to make arrangements so that old cases can be resolved within a month. And the Supreme Court also sent a letter to the Department of Judicial Administration to arrange things to make it possible.

Among the unresolved cases at the High Court area cases related to death and big cases of drugs and civil disputes.
