National flag to be lowered to half-mast for three days following the passing of Abdulla Hameed

President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has decided to lower the national flag to half-mast for three days following the passing of, Abdulla Hameed, the former Atolls Minister and other government prestigious positions.

The President’s Office said that the President has decided to lower the flag to half-mast starting tomorrow up to Friday.

While President Abdulla Yamin has decided to lower the national flag to half-mast in mourning, President has also decided to bring the body of the former Atolls Minister to the country and bury him with national honor.

Abdulla Hameed who received the honor of the leader of the Order of Nishan Izzuddeen and filled the position of a cabinet minister and President of the Parliament, suffered a heart-attack three days ago and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bangalore when he passed away today.
