Committee approves three nominations to HRCM

The Independent Institutions Committee of the parliament has approved the three people nominated by President Abdulla Yameen to the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM).

The three nominees are former MP Shifag Mufeed, Aishath Afreen Mohamed, and Aminath Eenas.

Guraidhoo MP Ibrahim Riza said while presenting the report to the parliament, that they all scored above 75 marks in the committee’s evaluation.

HRCM consists of five members. Tenures as HRCM members will expire on 17 August, for HRCM President Mariyam Azra, Ahmed Tholal, and Jeehan Mohamed.
