President pledges MVR 250,000 to gold medallists

President Abdulla Yameen has pledged MVR 250,000 to every Maldivian athlete who wins a gold medal in international competitions, President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali has told Sun Online.

This comes after Maldivian sprinter Ahmed Saaid won gold in the Men's 100m in the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) a week ago.
