Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen on Sunday sent Independence Day greetings to Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
President Yameen sent a separate message in which he sent Independence Day greetings on behalf on the Maldivian government and people, as well as on his own behalf to President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Singapore government, as well as people of Singapore.
President Yameen in his messages expressed hopes of further strengthening relations that exist between Maldives and Singapore, and conveyed his good wishes for continued progress and prosperity for people of Singapore.
Singapore is marking its 50th anniversary since it gained independence from Malaysia on August 9, 1965. The day is marked as National Day in Singapore to celebrate its independence from Malaysia.
