Gaadhoo councilor – PPM member – Ibrahim Ahmed has lost his seat after failing to attend council meetings 7 times in a row.
Gaadhoo Council President Abdul Azeez informed Sun Online on Sunday that they voted to remove him from the council after he failed to attend 7 meetings in a row after he used up his holidays and leaves.
“The motion was passed today with the unanimous vote of all,” said Azeez.
Azeez said that they had no idea where Ibrahim Ahmed was.
Gaadhoo Council – which previously had ruling party – PPM majority with three PPM members and two independent members is now balanced between two PPM members and two independent members.
Gaadhoo is a small island with a registered population of 427 people. The government is set to re-settle the locals in another island as part of its re-settlement program.
