Ooredoo gifts IGMH with a huge donation

Telecom company Ooredoo has provided a generous donation to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) as part of the “Thank you Maldives” Campaign – to express gratefulness over the support provided by Maldivians to the company during its 10 year operation in the country.

In a ceremony held at IGMH, Sunday morning, Ooredoo donated six defibrillators – devices used to deliver a therapeutic dose of electrical energy to the heart in common life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias and ventricular fibrillation.

The devices were donated on behalf of Ooredoo by CEO Vikram Sinha, and accepted on behalf of IGMH by MD Farhath Shaheer.

Expressing his gratitude for the donation, Farhath said that Ooredoo was an important partner of IGMH and noted that the devices donated by the company were of the latest technology.

“…The devices we received are modern, of latest (technology). Our technical staff informed me we can make full use of these devices in wards and emergency department,” said Farhath.

Speaking during the ceremony, Ooredoo CEO Vikram Sinha said that what the company was most proud of during its 10 years in Maldives was the work done across the country for human development. He also thanked IGMH for working alongside Ooredoo in their various social welfare programs.

Ooredoo is also set to conduct a blood donation camp within this week as part of celebrating its 10 year anniversary in Maldives. The company is set to conduct many activities “beneficial” to locals within August as part of their “Thank you Maldives” Campaign.
