Two objects similar to suspect plane parts found in Baa Atoll have been found in Haa Alif Atoll Uligam.
Uligam Council Vice President Ahmed Ziyad Hassan informed Sun Online on Sunday that the two raft-like parts were found washed up on shore about four days back. He said that the objects were six foot long and two foot wide.
The objects were very heavy and mostly made up of foam, said Ziyad.
“It was very heavy. Made of foam. There were traces of cement too. But mostly foam. It was very hard and difficult to destroy,” said Ziyad.
Ziyad said that they did know what those two objects could be, and that it had not been brought to the attention of police yet.
Meanwhile, police are in the middle of investigating what is suspected to be parts of a plan that washed ashore on two islands in Baa Atoll – Fehendhoo and Fulhadhoo. The object found in Uligam is similar to that found in Fehendhoo.
Police are also investigating what is suspected to be part of an airplane wing that had been submerged under water for about a year that washed up on the shore of Banyan Tree Resort.
Parts of a plane were found washed ashore on Indian Ocean country Reunion a few days back – investigation into which revealed it to be part of flight MH370 which went missing en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8, 2015.
