Man arrested for sexually abusing daughter

A man has been arrested under suspicion he was sexually abusing his own daughter.

A police media official informed Sun Online on Thursday that a 57 year-old man had been arrested Wednesday evening under court order. And that he was arrested under suspicion he was sexually abusing his 11 year-old daughter.

The man belongs to a southern atoll.

A man in Sh.Funadhoo was recently sentenced to 24 years in prison for a similar crime.

State has meted out stricter punishments in child abuse cases in face of increasing number of such cases being reported across the country.
