The ferry service between Malé and Hulhumalé has been disrupted due to bad weather.
An official of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), which operates the ferry, told Sun Online that the ferry service is resuming gradually after being suspended between 1:40 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
“The operations are delayed because of rough seas near Malé. There’s no protection close to the harbour in Hulhumalé. The Vilingili Ferry service has not been affected,” he told Sun Online.
The Department of Meteorology said that the winds picked up to 53 miles per hour during the rainstorm, and similar speeds can be expected over the next 24 hours.
Met Office has warned travellers against bad weather.
