Dr. Zahir changed to the Chancellor of Islamic University and Dr. Latheef assigned as the Chancellor of MNU

Dr. Mohamed Zahir Husssain, who was the Chancellor of the Maldives National University (MNU) has been replaced by the Dr. Mohamed Latheef by the President Abdulla Yamin and moved him to the position of Chancellor of the Islamic University.

The President assigned Dr. Ali Favaaz Shareef as the Vice Chancellor of MNU who was at a high postion at Villa College.

The Parliament gave the power to assign members to the University Council to the President four days ago.

Positions assigned by the President:

- Chancellor of the University

- Vice Chancellor of the University

- Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance)

- Deputy Vice Chancellor ( Research and Innovation)

Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Hassan Hameed resigned from the position after the changes were made.
