Ten people has been arrested for child prostitution and giving drugs to children in Fuvahmulah

Ten people who were involved running a child prostitution ring through blackmail has been arrested in Gn. Fuvahmulah.

“Ten people were arrested with court orders in Fuvahmulah between 4 p.m. and 2 a.m. in a special operation.” The Police Media Official told Sun Media.

Police said that the people arrested were local males between 20 – 55-years of age.

Sun Media has confirmed that a large number of people were involved in the immoral acts of giving drugs to number of small girls, forcing them into prostitution, taking pictures and videos and blackmailing them.

Police said that the Family and Child Protection Department of the Maldives Police Service is working with an investigation team from the Fuvahmulah Police station, at Fuvahmulah and further details as the investigation moves forward.
