Local boduberu group Harubee is set to perform at the Rain Forest World Music Festival 2015 in Kuching, Malaysia.
The music festival is organised by Sarawak Tourism Board and will take place at the Sarawak Cultural Village from 7 to 9 August 2015.
Harubee spokesperson told Sun Online that the opportunity to perform at this international event was facilitated by Asasi Records’ official, Abdulla Kaleem.
Harubee will depart to Malaysia on 4 August 2015.
A total of 23 bands are set to perform at the festival, from Malaysia, Spain, Scotland, Gambia, Australia, Indonesia, Georgia, Tunisia, Mexico, France, Ethiopia, Morocco, Mongolia, Poland, Indonesia, and Maldives.
Other international festivals at which Harubee has performed include the Royal Belum World Drum Festival last year, organised by the Malaysian government.
The annual Rainforest World Music Festival is organised to include workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts in the afternoons, followed by performances in the evenings.
The festival has been held every year for the past ten years and attracts a crowd of about 30,000 people.
