56-year-old arrested in relation to stabbing in Thakandhoo

A 56-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the stabbing in Haa Alifu Thakandhoo on Tuesday night.

The police spokesperson said that the arrest was made under a court order at 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday.

Earlier, Thakandhoo Council President told Sun Online that the victim is a 42-year-old man and he was stabbed on the face near the right ear.

The suspect served a six-month prison sentence last year after being convicted of issuing death threats. He was released in December 2014.
