Riyaz Rasheed: Resolutions against the government would result in changing the laws

The Deputy Leader of the PPM Parliamentary Group and the MP for Vilufushi constituency Riyaz Rasheed has said that the government would be forced to change the laws if resolutions are made against the government and attempts to stop government projects after the Councils are won under local governance.

Speaking at the debate of the amendment to the Local Governance bill, Riyaz said that laws would be changed and new laws would be made to service the people if there is going to be resistance to stop government projects.

“Resolutions against the government after winning the councils and stopping government projects would force the government to change the laws. And changes would be brought. The government would do this. Would do it and provide the basic services to the people.” Riyaz said.

He said that while the government doing numerous works it has to be noted.

Although changes have been brought to the Local Governance, MP Riyaz said that the best system is the one at the Presidency of Maumoon. He said that the system was to have island chiefs and atoll chiefs.
