Parliament approves Fahmy

The parliament has approved the appointment by President Abdulla Yameen, of former President of Civil Service Commission Mohamed Fahmy Hassan as the new Maldivian High Commissioner to Malaysia.

The motion was passed with 41 votes in favour, and 13 against.

Fahmy’s appointment followed the resignation of Mohamed Fayaz as Maldivian High Commissioner to Malaysia on 27 May 2015.

Fahmy, who has also served the education sector for many years, until now held the post of Deputy High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia.
