STO Supermarket opens after expansion

Renovation works which began in January 2015 to expand the State Trading Organisation (STO) Supermarket have been completed.

The project saw the expansion of the shop from 3,300 sq ft to 8,500 sq ft.

The new store was opened at a ceremony this morning, by Managing Director of STO Ahned Shareer and Board Member of STO Abdul Haadhee Hussein Fulhu.

Speaking to reporters, Senior Manager of STO Hamdhoo Saeed said that STO Supermarket is the largest single-storey supermarket in the Maldives, and the expansion had opened up new job opportunities.

The new supermarket has ten cashiers, a kids’ zone, and a larger variety of products.
