This Thursday has been officially declared as the first of Ramadan

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has declared that this Thursday would be the first of Ramadan.

Giving the statement at the ceremony to confirm the sighting of the moon, the Deputy Minister of the Islamic Ministry, Ibrahim Ahmed said that there is no word as to another Islamic country other than Maldives witnessing the moon.

And so it is decided that tomorrow is the 30th of Shaban and the first of Ramadan would be Thursday.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs advised the people to take the full advantage of the holy month of Ramadan and take care with the obligatory fasting of Ramadan.
