President supports the national team and encouraged victory

President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has sent his support to the Maldivian National Football Team facing Qatar in the World Cup Qualifiers and encouraged a victory from the team.

The Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali tweeted tonight saying that the President Called the Manager of the National Team, Mohamed Latheef and supported the players of the team.

While the President encouraged a win in tonight’s match against Qatar starting at 9 p.m., President Abdulla Yamin visited the team during their practices on Tuesday night and showed his support.

China, Hong Kong and Bhutan are in Group C in the second round of the World Cup qualifiers with the Maldives and Qatar. Maldives would play against Hong Kong in the next match on Tuesday.
