A police team from Malé has arrived in Laamu Gan for the investigation of the murder of a foreign national in the island.

The incident was reported to police at 7:10 a.m. today.

Police said that the team includes forensic experts and officers specialising in murder investigations.

No one has been arrested in relation the murder.

Earlier, Gan Council President Aslam Mohamed told Sun Online that the house where the body was found, is in Thundi district.

Aslam said that the man was living alone in the house, owned by a Malé citizen, as a caretaker.

Sources have told Sun Online that there were serious injuries on the victim’s head.
