A café has been reported to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and closed by the agency after a roach was found in a cup of coffee.

The café closed was “Café Thaaseer 2” on Buruzu Magu.

The man who reported the café to the HPA told Sun Media that last Monday night, he ordered a coffee at the café and found a roach in it after he had the drink.

“Checked because something hit in the mouth while drinking the coffee. Checked and found a cockroach.” The who wishes to remain anonymous said.

Director of the Inspection Section at HPA, Ahmed Naasir told Sun Media today that the café was closed following an inspection after it was reported and found cockroach infestation and low “hygienic level”.

He said that the café would be reopened after the HPA has confirmed that they are up to the standard.

Director Ahmed Naasir said that cafés being closed these days are because the standards are very low.
