President nominates Shifag Mufeed, two others as HRCM Members

President Abdulla Yameen has nominated former MP Shifag Mufeed, Aishath Afreen Mohamed, and Aminath Eenas as Members of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), and sent their names to the parliament for approval.

This was announced by President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali, via Twitter.

In a separate tweet, Muaz said that 33 people applied for the post of HRCM Member.

Tenures as HRCM members will expire on 17 August, for HRCM President Mariyam Azra, Ahmed Tholal, and Jeehan Mohamed.
