Ministry mulls extending caf

Ministry of Economic Development has said that discussions are ongoing regarding allowing restaurants and cafés to stay open after midnight during Ramadan.

The past few years, restaurants and cafés were allowed to stay open until 2:00 a.m. during Ramadan.

Economic Ministry Spokesperson Ali Waheed said that a decision will be made and announced soon.

A recent regulation pushed forward closing time for restaurants and cafés from 1:00 a.m. to midnight.
