Fund management program for the Local Councils has begun

Local Government Authority (LGA)’s Local Council Fund Management Program targeted to Councils has begun in Sh. Funadhoo today.

LGA said that Presidents and Vice Presidents of all the Atoll and City Councils have gathered at the island for the two day program.

Director General of LGA, Adam Shareef Ahmed told Sun Media today that the purpose of the program is to manage the funds across the country. And to share fund management procedures and provide technical assistance to the councils to grow the funds.

LGA said that this training program would cover information on business centers, business registrations, the corporative society operations the Maldives and generating revenue to Councils.

Fisheries Ministry and the Economic Ministry are also taking part in the training program.

LGA said that Shaviyani atoll was chosen for the program since their atoll council is notable in their fund management.
