Ferry services to Hulhumale’ and Villiale’ has been cancelled due to bad weather.
CEO of MTCC, Ibrahim Abdul-Razzaq Haleem told Sun Media tonight that the ferry services were cancelled at 9:15 p.m. due to bad weather.
“We stopped due to rough seas; we’ll start when Meteorology says that the seas are calmer.” Haleem said.
A large number of people are queued at the two terminals.
He said that although the ferries to Hulhumale’ were stopped, the passengers who want to go to Hulhumale’ are being taken to Hulhule’ where they can take a bus to Hulhumale’.
An Official from the MET Office said that the winds are expected to pick-up up to 30 – 40 miles an hour and hence, a Yellow Alert has been issued until 12 p.m. And the seas around the country would be extremely rough.
