Housing Ministry has held discussions about the jetty in front of the President’s Office and behind the Social Center, two possible locations for the relocation of the Tsunami Monument.
A high ranking official from the Housing Ministry told Sun Media today that the jetty in front of the President’s Office and the Western intersection of Majeedhee Magu and Boduthakurufaanu Magu are the most likely locations for the relocation. But so far, no decision has been made.
“Most talks are about two locations, no place have been finalized yet.” The official said.
The Tsunami Monument is being relocated because the bridge between Male’ and Hulhule’ would be the bridge landing area.
The Council of Th. Vilufushi has requested that the Tsunami Monument be relocated to the island. But the Housing Ministry said that it cannot be done.
