Flood in Vaadhoo

Three houses affected in the flood at G.Dh. Vaadhoo following heavy rains.

President of the Vaadhoo Council, Ahmed Abdul-Kareem told Sun Media today that three houses have been flood from the continuous rain since yesterday evening. And the people of one of the houses have been relocated after heavy damages to the house.

“Three houses have been affected by the flood and the people of one of the houses have been moved to their grandparent’s house. The others remain in their homes but they were affected by the water.” The Councilor said.

He said that while the whole island is flooded, people are using pumps in some areas to drain the water while others are using excavators to make a stream for the water to connect to the sea.

The island was flooded in the rains three weeks ago as well.
