The construction of 13 tarmac roads has begun in D. Kudahuvadhoo.
The project was inaugurated by the Minister of Housing, Dr. Mohamed Muiz and the MP for D. Meedhoo constituency and the Leader of MDA, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed.
The project tasked with Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) contains the tarmac of 6.3 kilometers of road.
MRDC says that the if project would moves forward in a fast pacing depending on the weather and other conditions, the project would be completed in ten months.
The government has given 18 months to MRDC to complete the project.
Speaking at today’s ceremony, the Managing Director of MRDC, Ibrahim Nazeem said that they received numerous help from Siyam Construction and the project would be finished as fast as possible.
Kudahuvadhoo council agreed with MRDC today saying that the road development in Kudahuvadhoo would not only benefit the island but the atoll as well.
Aside from the Deputy Leader of MDA, Ahmed Amir, officials from the Finance Ministry and Housing Ministry also took part in today’s inauguration ceremony.
