Man injured in timber loading accident

A man has been injured when a timber beam fell while loading it on a boat via crane when a crane wire broke.

A witness to the accident told Sun Media that in the incident that took place this morning at the MPL area, an MPL staff was injured when the a steel wire on the crane broke and the timber beam bundle fell.

During the incident while loading beams to a boat, the man injured by the beam fell into the sea. He was struck by one of the beams that fell from the crane hook.

A friend of the injured man said that there is no visible injury other than on the head but he may have sustained injury to his chest.

Police said that the injured man in the incident this morning at the MPL area was taken to IGM Hospital for treatment. But he did not sustain any major injuries.
