National airline, Maldivian has conducted a test flight to the regional airport at R. Ifuru.
Head of Administration at Maldivian, Ali Nashaath told Sun Media today that a successful test flight landed around 6:30 p.m. today at the Ifuru Airport.
“With god’s will everything is going successfully. So everything would go according to the scheduled date.” Nashaath said.
Flights Ifuru are scheduled to start officially on 29 May.
One-way tickets to Ifuru are expected to cost MVR 777 while a Return ticket would cost MVR 1554.
The 1.2 km runway at the Ifuru Airport was constructed by Coastline Company. The management contract of the airport was signed between Ifuru Investments Pvt. Ltd. and Island Aviation last month.
The development of Ifuru was assigned to Ifuru Investment in May 2011 for three islands to develop.
