SIFCO: From now the firework display has to be seen near Senahiya

“Sifainge Co-operative” (SIFCO) has said that from now on, the closest the public is allowed to watch the fireworks is from near the military hospital, Senahiya.

The fireworks area in Male’ City is the Raalhugandu area. The public is allowed to watch the fireworks near the Raalhugandu area on the pavement on the ocean side before three people got injured the last time a fireworks display was held.

A high official from SIFCO told Sun Media today that from now on, firework displays would be conducted with high security avoiding more incidents.

The official said that from now on, the closed the public can get is near the Senahiya hospital.

“From now on we won’t let people stay, the closest people can get is near Senahiya.” The official said.

At a press conference, the State Minister of the Defence Ministry, Mohamed Zuhair said that forwork displays are not for specific people and it is conducted by the welfare organization, SIFCO for profit.
