Maldives and Saudi sign Hajj related agreement

The Maldives and the Saudi government has signed an agreement to better the travel services of Maldivian Hajj pilgrims.

The Deputy Ambassador of the Maldivian Consulate in Riyadh, Usama Mohamed Rasheed represented the Maldives on agreement signed at Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that agreements were signed over the things needed by Hajj pilgrims in Medina, providing tents to Maldivian pilgrims in Mecca, land transportation in Mecca and logistical support at Jeddah airport.

While agreements are being signed between Maldives and Saudi in regards to the Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi has given the Maldives an extra 1000 pilgrimage quota which adds up the total pilgrimage quota to 2000.
