People have started living at the housings built by money raised in the media telethon in Maldives to help Gaza.
100 houses were built in the project conducted through Qatar Red Crescent. A total of 700 people have been provided with housing with those 100 houses.
The media telethon in Maldives raised USD 1.9 million to the people of Gaza after Israeli attacks on Gaza.
The money was also used to build 100 temporary shelters in Gaza named “Maldives Shela”.
Qatar Red Crescent movement said that every temporary shelter has room for sleeping, a toilet and a kitchen. And basic necessities such as electricity and water were established as well.
They said that after the housing project was completed and handed to the people of Gaza, USD 25,000 (MVR 385,500) was donated to the people living there.
