The service of Traffic Police has been inaugurated in Hulhumale’.
Police Media Official told Sun Media today that Traffic Police have taken over the patrol of the streets of Hulhumale’ on Thursday. The patrol was conducted by regular police in the city of more than 30,000 people.
The service was inaugurated by the Head of Central Operations Command, Superintendent of Police, Ismail Naveen.
Police said that the Traffic Police Service was initiated as a separate service because Police believes that the roads of the City must be made safe with the increase in it’s population and the number of vehicles.
Speeding on the roads of Hulhumale’ is a major issue. And there have been serious traffic collisions in the past
