A Business Development Service Center (BDSC) has been established in Kulhudhuffushi as part of the effort to establish a network to help small businesses.
The first branch of this network was opened in Addu City. BDSCs would be established in Male’ City, H.Dh. Kulhudhuffushi, Lh. Naifaru, D. Kudahuvadhoo, L. Fonadhoo, G.Dh. Thinadhoo and Addu city.
The Deputy Ministry of the Economic Ministry, Adam Thaufeeq told Sun Media today that the purpose of the BDSCs would be to provide financial and technical assistance to the businesses in their districts. And they would be monitoring businesses and help shape their futures.
In a previous interview with Sun Media, Economic Minister, Mohamed Saeed said that international consults would be brought in with this project run with the aid from Asia Development Bank (ADB). The team of experts which include six experts from Maldives and four from abroad would help run the BDSCs in the country.
