Taxi permits increased in Hulhumale

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has decided to increase the number of taxi permits in Hulhumale’.

HDC said that five taxi permits would be given without any fee in an effort to facilitate easier travels in Hulhumale’.

The taxi permits would be given to those who own a land, flat or a raw house in Hulhumale’ or those who live in Hulhumale’ and must not have a previous permit to a taxi.

While applications for the permits are open until 28 May, if the number of applicants is more than five, HDC said that five applicants would be chosen via draw.

Hulhumale’ does not have a lot of taxis at the moment and most of the travellers use the public transport bus.
