Fareed receives death penalty for Shuhad

Criminal Court has found Hassan Fareed guilty of the murder of Abdulla Shuhad, and sentenced him to death.

The court said that the State had presented evidence in court to prove that Fareed, with a group of people, stabbed Shuhad on the right side below his chest, while Shuhad was at the intersection of Bodufannu Magu and Bahaaru Magu in Dhoodigan in Fuvahmulah at around 9:30 p.m. on 27 January 2010.

Shuhad died as a result of the injuries, while receiving treatment on 28 January 2010.
