Ali Waheed brought to Male

Chairperson of MDP, Ali Waheed has been brought to Male’ City for the third time for medical treatment since his arrest on the night of the opposition protest on 1 May.

Vice President of MDP, Mohamed Shifaz told Sun Media tonight that Ali Waheed was brought to ADK Hospital around 6 p.m. today to consult a doctor.

He said that Ali Waheed was brought to the hospital to do an MRI and was taken back after the scan.

The medical condition of Ali Waheed is very poor according to his lawyer, Husnu Suood.

When Ali Waheed was brought to the Hospital, his wife, Alishath Leesha along with the Leader of MDP’s Parliamentary Group, Ibrahim Mohamed Soalih, Party’s Vice President, Sifaz, Deputy Mayor of Male’ City, Shifa Mohamed and supporters of the Party attended the hospital.

The MDP Chairperson was arrested with claims that his speech at the opposition rally on 1 May supported violence and encourage the protestors to confront the security forces.
