Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has introduced online tax payment service.
With this new service, everything related to the payment of tax can be done online.
Speaking at a ceremony held to launch the new service, Minister of Finance Abdulla Jihad noted the efforts by the authority to introduce modern features and make services easily accessible to tax payers.
Director General of Tax Payer Service Ahmed Shareef said that payments can be made from accounts in all banks.
In order to make payments, users first have to register on MIRA Connect.
At the ceremony, MIRA also launched a card for tax payment, Vaaru Card, which can be linked to both Rufiyaa and Dollar accounts.
Application forms for the special card can be submitted to Bank of Maldives (BML).
Today’s ceremony was also attended by senior officials of Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) and BML.
