Remand extended by 15 days for Sobah

Criminal Court has granted a remand period of 15 days for Jumhooree Party (JP) member Sobah Rasheed, arrested during the protest on Friday.

Sobah was arrested at 10:50 p.m. on Friday, at Artificial Beach.

Sources say he was arrested on suspicion of inciting violence during the protest.

Other political figures arrested on Friday include President of Adhaalath Party Imran Abdulla, Deputy Leader of JP Ameen Ibrahim, and Chairperson of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ali Waheed.
