Maldives Police Service have requested that steps be taken against Marble Hotel after seizing alcohol bottles that were being stored at a warehouse.
Police said that they have requested the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Tourism to take steps against Marble Hotel since they believe that the 106 bottles of alcohol seized last night is related to the guest house.
The alcohol was seized around 8:15 p.m. last night while being moved to a warehouse near the Marble guest house from the back of a taxi cab. Police executed a search warrant this afternoon at Marble Hotel.
Police seized the alcohol in an operation following a tip to Police Intelligence while the alcohol was being stored at a warehouse used by Marble Hotel for maintenance work.
Three staff members of the hotel and the taxi driver was arrested last night.
The custody period of all four that were arrested last night has been extended by five days by the Criminal Court.
